The Hall of Fame game, with Terrell Owens squaring off against his old team, drew the highest preseason NFL game preliminary television rating in six years.

On Sunday night the game broadcast on NBC between the Cowboys and Bengals earned an overnight right of 7.6 and 13 share.

The preseason rating was the best since a 2004 Cowboys versus Titans game with its 8.2/13 rating and an increase of 31 percent versus last year’s Hall of game between Buffalo and Tennessee, which scored a 5.8/10 rating.

His base salary will be $3.5 million in addition to an option bonus of $9.5 million as part of his $54 million, six year contract. Tony Romo passed on putting. On Monday, the quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys was on the practice field on the first day for organized team activities as opposed to on a golf course attempting to earn his spot for the next tournament on the PGA tour. Romo said there wasn’t really a decision for me. I love doing this. Why wouldn’t I choose this?

The Saints and Drew Brees are no longer marching towards a perfect season following a frenzied rally that came up short in their 24-17 defeat Saturday night to Dallas.

Dallas shook off their lethargy on offense as well as maintain their equilibrium on defense to go into December with a record of 8-3.
